In its efforts to separate core features from Android into apps that can be updated without carrier approval, Google has released its stock Android 4.2 keyboard as an app on Google Play.
This allows users to replace their OEM-supplied keyboard with the one that comes with Google’s Nexus devices. Google Keyboard offers gesture-based typing and typing suggestions.
The keyboard is currently only available in English, with other languages added in the future. Learn more including how to download the app on the Android blog post here.
